School bond election set April 2
To the editor:
On April 2, 2013, residents who live in the Fairfield Community School District boundaries will vote on a $10,000,000 bond issue to pay for needed improvements at the Fairfield High School. The district’s website has posted information to help you understand the question up for a vote. They also include polling place locations and hours polls are open.
Because almost everyone in the district territory pays property taxes which will pay for the bonds either as a property owner or through rents, this issue should be of interest to everyone. Please note the superintendent, the school board, and the volunteer committee spearheading the effort, have organized the finances so that property taxes will not increase but they would appreciate the community turning out to participate in the election. I encourage each of you to go to the polls and make your voice heard.
