Sentencing set for man who grabbed girl in Dubuque
DUBUQUE (AP) — A man accused of trying to abduct an 11-year-old girl as she walked home from a Dubuque school has taken a plea deal.
Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports that 21-year-old Robert Robbins pleaded guilty to enticing a minor for sexual abuse or exploitation. Originally he’d been charged with kidnapping. His sentencing is set for Jan. 23.
Authorities say Robbins grabbed the girl in March and forced her behind a house in an attempt to sexually assault her. The girl was able to escape.
