Seventh-grade football plays Aldo Leopold in season finale

BURLINGTON — The seventh-grade football team concluded its season on the road Thursday against Burlington Aldo Leopold.

Fairfield’s ‘A’ team tied Aldo Leopold 6-6 to finish with a 1-4-1 record. The ‘B’ squad, on the other hand, fought to an 8-0 win to finish the season at 3-3.

Steeler Higdon led the ‘A’ team with three catches for 51 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass from Cade Lisk, and racked up 70 yards on the ground. Higdon also led the defense with 12 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Also in the ‘A’ game, Kolten Webber made five catches for 111 yards and finished with nine tackles on defense, and Lisk threw for 172 yards overall. Zach Barnes also added five tackles.

In the ‘B’ game, Stetson Speas scored on a six-yard scamper. Graham Kuehl, who gained 53 yards rushing in the game, converted the two-point conversion attempt. Defenders Juan Carlos Tello, Derek Beasley and Brendan Hagans all had outstanding games on the defensive end making four stops apiece.
