SHARE orders due March 10
Orders are due before March 10 for the SHARE Iowa Inc. food packages available this month.
Orders can be placed locally by calling the Sieda Community Action office at 472-6140 or Claudia Greenig at 472-3569.
Pickup will be at 8 a.m. March 25 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $28 Best Value Package includes: 2 pounds meatballs; 1 pound fully cooked beef patties; 12 ounces Little Sizzlers sausage links; 1 pound individually quick-frozen chicken breast patties; 16 ounces frozen peas; 24 ounces apple brioche bread pudding; russet potatoes, cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, apples, tangelos and mango.
The $14.50 Grocery Package includes: 16 ounces frozen peas; 24 ounces apple brioche bread pudding; russet potatoes, cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, apples, tangelos and mango.
The $14.50 Meat-Only Package includes: 2 pounds meatballs; 1 pound fully cooked beef patties; 12 ounces Little Sizzlers sausage links; 1 pound individually quick-frozen chicken breast patties.
The $28 Mega Meat Box includes: 12 ounces bacon, 1 pound ground beef, 18 ounces fully cooked sausage; 12-ounces meatballs; 2 pounds chicken thighs; 1 pound individually quick frozen chicken breast; 1.5 pound pork loin roast; 20 ounces roast beef deli.
The $18.50 Pancake & Sausage on a Stick Box includes: 64 2.5-ounce portions of pancakes and sausage on a stick.
The $36 Bacon Box includes: 12 1-pound packages of maple bacon made by Oscar Mayer.
The $24 Breaded Shrimp Box includes: 4 pounds battered shrimp that can be cooked in an oven.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order “choice” items.
The choice items for March are:
• A $16.50 spiral ham package, with an approximate 6- to 7-pound Ripple Creek bone-in spiral ham.
• A $22 steak box, with six 8-ounce tenderized sirloin strip steaks.
• A $16 beef patties box, with 5 pounds of fully cooked beef patties.
• An $8 pair of 8-inch thaw-and-serve pies: chocolate cream and lemon meringue.
Food packages are subject to changes.
SHARE Iowa Inc. is a nonprofit food buying group that offers good, nutritious products at a reduced cost through a volunteer-run, community-based distribution system.
Everyone is welcome to participate; there are no membership fees and no income guidelines. But because part of the focus of SHARE is to promote volunteer service, participants are encouraged to spend some time volunteering with an activity of their choice to help make their community a better place.
