Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 11:06 p.m. Saturday that $10 worth of gasoline had been taken from a vehicle in the 2100 block of 145th Street sometime between 2:30 and 8 p.m. that day.
The same resident reported at 11:36 p.m. Friday that the residence had been burglarized. Someone broke into the house; and missing was jewelry, DVDs, a used tire and remote controls and chargers for two toys, total value of $295. Entry was made through the door, but there were no signs of forced entry.
The same resident also reported at 10:52 a.m. Thursday vandalism to two motor vehicles, estimated at $550 to repair; and theft of $300 worth of gasoline from four vehicles, which occurred sometime between June 27 and Thursday.
Caller reported at 11:18 a.m. Sunday a vehicle registration sticker was intentionally removed/taken from a vehicle license plate in the 2000 block of Kale Boulevard.
Hilario James Garcia, 27, of Ottumwa, was arrested in Batavia at 2:51 a.m. Sunday and charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense; driving while suspended; failure to use a child restraint device; and child endangerment.
