Show choir concert set at IHCC
OTTUMWA — Bridge City Explosion, Indian Hills Community College’ show choir, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in St. John Auditorium on the college’s Ottumwa campus.
The free performance is open to the public.
Director Diana Upton-Hill said selections to be performed range from the romantic to the erratic as the group will feature songs from Broadway and Off-Broadway. However, she added they may not be the songs most would expect.
The songs to be performed will include “Beautiful City” from “Godspell,” “21 Guns” from “American Idiot” and “The Wizard and I” from “Wicked” as well as many other unexpected songs from the stage. Upton-Hill said there will be featured solo numbers, as well as small group and full-group performances.
Members of the Bridge City Explosion from the local area include: Brittany Anderson from Fairfield and Niccole Giberson from Packwood.
The three-person ensemble providing the accompaniment for the show choir includes IHCC professor Emily Wolf on piano; Nathan Maughan of Albia on bass guitar; and Jay Stookesberry of Milton on keyboard.
