A high-flying gymnastics troop named “Acrodunk” visited Fairfield Middle School Dec. 13 and performed a routine that incorporated flips and other stunts into artistic basketball dunks. The performance was a reward to the students who had sold at least one magazine subscription to benefit the middle school. For a few of their stunts, the performers asked for audience participation. Seventh grader Nathan Mathis was told to stand on a chair and hold a basketball over his head. Performer Gregory Mueller jumped on the trampoline, grabbed the ball from Mathis, flipped and dunked the ball through the hoop.
