Sloat’s three goals lift Fairfield girls Tuesday
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — Claudia Sloat didn’t score 11 seconds into the game like she did last time out, but the Trojan junior once again made her presence felt in Tuesday’s non-conference tilt in Columbus Junction.
Sloat finished with three goals Tuesday and the Trojans earned their fourth straight win, topping Columbus 5-0 on a cold night more suited for American football than soccer.
Huma Liptak scored one goal to go along with two assists, and Katie Anderson was responsible for the Trojans’ other goal.
The Trojans also pitched a shutout in the JV match and won 2-0. Delaney Neil and Di Sanchez scored the two goals, and Hanna Dettman and Katie Bell both provided assists.
The Fairfield girls (5-2, 1-1 Southeast Conference) return home for a Southeast Conference matchup with Mount Pleasant on Thursday. Start time is set for 5:30 p.m.
