Social connection

Apr 11, 2013

Timmy Cubbage, son of Allison and William Cubbage of Batavia, is uncertain about tasting his “spider hotdog” at the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association Parents as Teachers Social Connection March 28. The event activities were based around “The Bernstein Bears Easter Surprise” book and the parent-education topic was how sensory integration affects learning. The next Social Connection, “Bountiful B’s with Bob the Builder,” will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. SIEDA Head Start will be co-sponsoring the event where parents and children will explore various interactive “Letter B” activities, eat a light meal and receive free books and at-home activities. The local P.A.T. program is available to families with children 0-5 years of age, with funding through the AIM Early Childhood Iowa Area. Contact Lynn Godwin, parent educator, at 472-4526 for more information.
