Soupiset makes history

MIDLAND, Mich. — Sean Soupiset, a part-time resident of Fairfield and former Fairfield High School tennis player, finished sixth in Michigan Division 1 doubles over the weekend at the state finals in Midland, Michigan.
Playing for Traverse City Central, Soupiset and doubles partner Cam Young also set a state record in the process. The pair finished the season with a 43-2 record, surpassing the previous Michigan record for wins at 42.
Soupiset, last season’s No. 2 singles player for the Trojans, plans to be back in Fairfield this winter in time for the Iowa tennis season.
