Southeast Iowa Band to perform
The Southeast Iowa Band, under the direction of Robert McConnell, will present “A Spring Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
The program will include a variety of musical selections, including: “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by F. Mendelssohn; “Fiesta Del Pacifico” by Roger Nixon; “Fandango” by Frank Perkins; “Red, White and Brass” arranged by Rayburn Wright and Lee Norris; and highlights from the musical “Mame.”
The Southeast Iowa Band includes musicians from throughout the area, including Mount Pleasant, Burlington, Washington, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Ottumwa and other communities.
The musicians from Fairfield are Gary Roth and Mary Andersen on clarinet, Rodger Gillaspie on tenor saxophone and Jim Wotherspoon on euphonium.
Admission is $10 or membership in the Fairfield Concert Association.
