Cardinal Middle School sixth-grade students in Lyndsey Noe’s language arts class use their Kuno 3 tablets to practice their new spelling words earlier this week. “We use our Kunos every day in language arts,” said Noe. Cardinal replaced its MacBooks with the Kuno tablets in September. Superintendent Joel Pedersen said the key reason for the switch is Kunos’ Curriculum Loft. Curriculum Loft allows teachers to provide material and content to students through their tablet device, and lets students have access to it at home without an Internet connection. “I upload all slideshows and notes into their loft,” said Noe. “This way, they can follow along in class and have all notes at hand. All spelling and vocabulary words are found in the loft. When we have a class activity, writing activity or graphic organizer, they can be found in the loft.” Noe said she uses a Kuno application to make quizzes and practive activities for the students, and she can have instant feedback on how they’ve done. “The instant feedback is great for me because I now know where my focus needs to go,” said Noe.
