Fairfield volleyball camp dates announced
Fairfield High School volleyball coach Nancy Diers and her staff will be holding volleyball camps starting in June.
The first camp is for girls in fourth and fifth-grade and will be held June 16-20 from 3-4 p.m each day. The skills of forearm passing, serving and setting will be addressed. General knowledge of volleyball rules and terminology will be taught. Prizes will be awarded each day. The cost for this camp is $20.
The next camp will be June 16-20 at 1-3 p.m. each day for grades sixth through eighth. More advanced skills will be taugh. Match play involving strategies and coverages on the court will be implemented. The cost of this camp is $40.
Grades eighth through 12th will have a camp Aug. 4-8 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. This camp costs $50.
Each camper for all three camps gets a T-shirt and each camp is at FHS.

Loopy Trail Run to take place May 17
The Loopy Trail Run will be ran May 17 in Fairfield.
This will be the third annual race held on the Jefferson County Trails.
There will be a kids run, an individual run and a team run. The kids race will start at 7:30 a.m. and will only be one mile. This race will start at the Jefferson County Health Center and Maasdam Barns section of the Jefferson County Trails.
The adult race (18 and older) will start at 8 a.m. and will be 16 miles long.
Participants must pre-register by May 2 to guarantee a free T-shirt. Kids can run for free. Adult individuals must pay $35 and the cost for a three person team is $50.

MSAE soccer gets win to open season
The Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment junior high boys’ soccer team began its season Friday with a 5-0 win over Holy Trinity.
Bodhi Boucherle scored two goals for the Pioneers. Kai Vessey, Shawn Spurrier and Daniel Zhu also put in goals for MSAE.
The defense, led by Dante Cingire and Jeremy Marks, didn’t allow Holy Trinity to record a shot on goal.
The Pioneers are scheduled to play at Burlington Notre Dame tonight.
