Stockport Lions BBQ Days set
STOCKPORT — The 63rd annual Stockport Lions BBQ Days is planned for Friday through Sunday.
Kicking off the weekend Friday night is the truck pull and a marathon softball tournament.
Weigh-in for the truck pull is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Saddle Club Grounds, with the pull starting at 7 p.m.
The entry fee is $25, and drivers must have a driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Saturday events will feature a parade, car show, tractor pull, barbecued lunch, contests and more.
Registration for the car show opens at 8 a.m. in City Park. Public voting is at noon, and the trophy presentation is at 1:30 p.m.
The car show has 19 classes, including classes for motorcycles and tractors. Registration is free.

The parade line up will begin at 10 a.m. in the Stockport United Methodist Church parking lot. Following the announcement of the parade marshal at 11 a.m. on Main Street, the parade will make its way through town. For information about the parade, call Melissa Sydness at 919-2700.
A barbecued lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Stockport American Legion Hall. Food and drinks also will be available at the Stockport Lions Club Snack Shack and the Pepsi Wagon set up around town.
Registration for an Iowa sanctioned pedal-tractor pull for children ages 4-11 will be at 1 p.m. on Main Street, with the pull beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The afternoon will include kids’ games set to begin at 2:30 p.m. on the Stockport Christian Church lawn.
A community church service in scheduled for 10 a.m. in City Park, with the Rev. Jason Mott, pastor of Stockport Christian Church, and the Rev. Herb Shafer, pastor of Stockport United Methodist Church.
Those attending Stockport BBQ Days events are asked to bring their lawn chairs.
