A cardinal, like this one, could be one of the bird species spotted during the upcoming Young Birders Summer Camp set for 9-11 a.m. Aug. 5-7 at Jefferson County Park. The camp is for children ages 8 to 18 who are interested in birds. Jefferson County Naturalist Therese Cummiskey said each morning the Young Birders Club campers will spend time outdoors birding and time learning more about the skills needed to help identify birds. Plus participants will learn about the adaptations that makes each bird species unique. The fee is $10 each day or $25 total for all three mornings. For information and registration, contact Cummiskey at 472-4421 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
