Susan Weber, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
A service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Susan Weber.
Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Weber was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Laura and James E. Hoskins. She married L. Duane Weber June 3, 1961, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
She and her sister were nurtured and cared for by an aunt and uncle, Ada and Fred Snider, after her mother died prematurely.
She attended Packwood Consolidated School and graduated in 1953.
Following graduation from Iowa State Teachers College, now University of Northern Iowa, she taught vocational home economics in Sigourney for two years.
She retired in 1997 from the Cedar Rapids Community School District where she taught family and consumer science for 28 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Alan Weber of Richmond, Va., and Loren Weber and spouse Deanna of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters; and one sister, Dorothy Foster of Grand Island, Neb.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her aunt and uncle.
