Taste of Chocolate set Sept. 13 in Bonaparte
BONAPARTE — Bonaparte Main Street will host its 12th annual Taste of Chocolate from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Whiteley Opera House.
The event offers homemade chocolate confections in bite-sized pieces displayed for creating guests’ own special box of goodies. Rich, chocolaty treats and delicacies will be sold by the pound for guests to take home and enjoy.
“This is a chocoholic’s paradise,” said promotion chairwoman Dana Mabe.
Mabe explained the Taste of Chocolate not only lets guests choose chocolate delights they might not make for themselves, but gives the bakers the opportunity to try new recipes.
Wine tasting will be sponsored by East Grove Farms of Salem. East Grove specializes in meads and honey wines made from organically grown native Iowa and heirloom fruits.
In conjunction with the Taste of Chocolate, the Bonaparte Fourth of July Committee will have vendors in the park featuring antique, flea market, craft and home-party items.
