Tenderloin supper; Live nativity; Thanksgiving meal; Music jam

Tenderloin supper, bazaar today, Saturday morning

First United Methodist Church will have its annual fall bazaar today, hosting a tenderloin meal from 5-7 p.m.

The meal will include tenderloin sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, homemade pie and beverage. The cost is $9; $5 for children age 10 and younger.

The bazaar, consisting of “trash and treasures,” and a bake and food table, will be open 4-8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

 

Live nativity part of city’s holiday celebration

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will once again host its outside live nativity in its gazebo from 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 25.

Visitors outside will hear a narration of the Christmas story, with music, live animals and performers.

Visitors can warm up inside the church while enjoying fellowship with friends, listening to Christmas carols played on the piano. Cookies, hot cocoa and coffee will be served.

A free shuttle bus will be available to take visitors back and forth from the south side of Central Park to the church from 6-8 p.m.

The holiday lighting ceremony and Santa’s arrivaltake place Nov. 25 in Central Park, starting with the Fairfield High School choir students and alumni carolling at 5:30 p.m. at the Ron Prill Bandstand.

 

Church hosts Thanksgiving meal Sunday in Lockridge

LOCKRIDGE — First Augustana Lutheran Church is serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Lockridge Community Center.

Everyone is welcome.

A free will donation will be accepted.

 

Music jam planned Sunday

STOCKPORT — A bluegrass, country and gospel music jam is set from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at Stockport Christian Church.
