Thankful For Quiet Train Horns
I think it's appropriate at Thanksgiving time that we give thanks to the added peace and quiet now that the trains have ceased their horn blowing (mostly) as they ride through Fairfield. I'm a grateful, small contributor to the grass roots financial effort that got the job done and I would like to see a thankful recognition given to people like Michael Halley and Bill Blackmore who spearheaded the efforts to get this job done with minimal financial help from the town coffers. Wending the way through the bureaucratic maze was no small effort, either, I'm sure. Well done and Thank You to these citizens and many other contributors, both large and small, who made it all possible!!
