TOP: Mother’s Day Out Preschool 4-year-olds rehearse their Christmas pageant this morning at Immanuel Lutheran Church, singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” but with a twist. The angels and shepherds at left, with the three wise men at right, all point to the star that led the way to the manger where the Christ child lay.

LEFT: Brody Phillips and Pearl Winheim practice their roles as Joseph and Mary in the Christmas program as the rest of their class saing “Still.”

There are enough children in the 4-year-olds class to have five angels, three wise men, three shepherds and three drummer boys and a star as well as Mary and Joseph. Teacher Vicki Eastburn says you can’t change the Christmas Story, but they do use different songs and change the way they present the story each year. Eastburn said the children will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
