Third annual Maharishi School Alumni Extravaganza planned Sunday
The third annual Maharishi School Alumni Extravaganza showcasing the talents of the school’s graduates is set for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
Last year’s event sold out, and this year’s mix of music, comedy, dance, and theatre promises to do the same. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at www.fairfieldacc.com or at the convention center’s box office.
Produced by Kate Vigmostad, the Extravaganza is an annual celebration that provides an opportunity for re-affirming connections, general merry-making, and the chance to see performances. It is not a fundraiser, nor is it for profit, but a celebration of the ever-growing family of Maharishi School graduates and an opportunity to gather and share the special connection that exists in town and among its ever-growing, creative community.
Dynamic duo Meredith Hirsch and David Murphy will contribute their talents as co-hosts once again.
This year’s Extravaganza will include 13 acts, featuring vocal and instrumental music, modern and classical dance, aerial circus arts and a comedic theatrical performance.
Performers include modern dancers Jenna Riegel from New York City and Kate Vigmostad, while Rebecca Busch will perform an exhibition of classical Indian dance.
Classical pianist Meara Oberdieck will display her musical talent, and local Dom Rabalais, the “human light bulb,” will alternatively rock the audience. Samara Burnes and Angela Folz will perform an aerial circus performance.
Musicians Adrien Daller Logsdon, Miranda Mallard, Taylor Ross and Michaela and Steve McLain will fill the concert hall with rockin’ music, and Meredith Siemsen and Sam Garles will present a comedic vignette.
