This week in history
Edward C. Mullin, left, donates the Civil War uniform worn by his great-great-grandfather Lt. Moses Mullin to Mark Shafer and the Carnegie Historical Museum. The soldier was wounded June 18, 1864, at the Battle of Petersburg, Virginia. Other items beside the uniform that Mullin donated were a book on the history of Moses Mullin’s military company, including a photo of Moses Mullin from 1865 and at a reunion in 1908. Another booklet contains Moses Mullin’s memoirs, which is seven pages long and contains a photo of him at age 75. The collection also contains a ribbon from a 1916 reunion in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Moses Mullin died the following year at age 75.
