Time to drain the swamp
To the editor:
In December 1951, General Douglas MacArthur, who was the supreme commander of the allied forces in the Pacific during World War II, stated: “In this day of gathering storms, as moral deterioration of political power spreads its growing infection, it is essential that every spiritual force be mobilized to defend and preserve the religious base upon which this nation is founded; for it has been that base which has been the motivating impulse to our moral and national growth. History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has either been a spiritual reawakening to overcome the moral lapse or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.”
God did not deliver His plan for life on this earth in secret. He announced it from a smoking mountain top causing hundreds of millions of copies of His law to be printed and praise be to our God there was a spiritual reawakening in this nation on Nov. 8, 2016.
Guidance matters and there will always be consequences that happen if “we the people” do not do what guidance tells us to do. Any time we look to a president or any elected or unelected official to do what only God can do explains why 21st century America had subjected itself to moral decay and political and economic decline.
Any hope founded upon faith in any man or woman made philosophy, institutions, ideals, values and interpretations becomes misguided, unreliable, unaccountable and unconstitutional. Fairfield, Iowa and all of America has suffered the consequences and the progressive deterioration of what happens when right becomes wrong and wrong becomes right.
“We the people” of Fairfield, Iowa and throughout this nation have witnessed in 21st century America that the same government formed to protect our rights had become the biggest threats to our rights.
As is with Biblical guidelines when government and the constitution of the United States of America is not used according to the original intended purposes, frustration, anger and oppression sets in. Therefore, those in this nation that want government to solve all their perceived problems of 21st century American society but any attempts to create a government structure with no Godley values and based on corrupt, crooked, venal men or women, leads to foolishness and impotence or much worse, a dictatorship more horrible than anything the world had yet known.
George Washington told us: “It is impossible to rightly govern without God and the Bible.” Our first president warned us that America would commit national suicide if “we the people” allowed separation of the two.
It is time to “drain the swamp!”
