Trojan bowlers earn district honors
Seniors Gabe Hull and Alyssa Chatfield lead a list of seven Trojan bowlers who were recently honored with placement on the 2012-13 All-District 10 squad.
Hull received one of six spots on the first team after leading the Fairfield boys with a 178 average this winter. The Fairfield senior also was a first team all-Southeast Conference selection, providing a team-high 393 series at the conference meet in February.
Chatfield has also landed a first team all-district spot after pacing the Trojan girls with a 169 average this winter. Chatfield earned all-conference accolades, bowling a 372 at the SEC meet to post the second highest series among females.
Also receiving recognition for the Fairfield boys were seniors Mitch Goudy and Ben Hull on the second team squad, as well as sophomore Andrew Chatfield on the honorable mention list. Goudy finished the season with a 176 average, while Hull and Chatfield both averaged 172.
Senior Megan Harris had a 160 average this winter to earn second team all-district honors, and freshman Madelyn Swan was honorable mention for the Fairfield girls’ squad. Swan posted a 137 average in her rookie campaign.
Hull was joined on the first team All-District 10 team by Daniel Ruth and Brock Palar of Mount Pleasant, Amos Thompson of Keokuk and Louisa-Muscatine’s Beau Hahn and Erik Adams. In addition to Chatfield, Keokuk’s Lacey Dresden, Lakyn Boltz and Hannah Seyb, Mount Pleasant’s Steph Ford and Brittney Morse of Louisa-Muscatine were first-team selections on the girls’ side.
