Jul 25, 2014

IOWA CITY (AP) — University of Iowa police have identified a university employee as the person suspected of placing a video camera on the floor of a restroom and recording scenes there.

The camera was found June 4 in the University Capitol Centre’s Information Technology Services space. The people recorded have been identified and notified.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that the employee has been removed from his or her position on the university’s Information Technology Services staff. University chief information officer Steve Fleagle says in an email to his workers that the person isn’t allowed on university property or allowed to have contact with other staffers or participate in university events.

University Police Director Chuck Green says no charges have been filed. The person’s name hasn’t been publicly released.
