Vacation Bible school set at Word of Life church

Word of Life Lutheran Church will host vacation Bible school for 3-year-old through fifth-grade children 5:30-8 p.m. July 22-25.

“Join Us on ‘God’s Team’ and Win in Life!” is the theme of vacation Bible school this year and all the Bible lessons, crafts and songs will be taught with the help of baseball, basketball, soccer, football and cheerleading.

A light supper, with a sports theme, will be served each evening. The July 22 supper will be ball park franks, chips and cookie. The July 23 supper will be basketball chicken nuggets, fries and cookie. The July 24 meal will be spaghetti with soccer meat balls, bread and butter sandwich and cookie, and the July 25 meal will be football fan cheese pizza, chips and cookie.

Organizers are asking for children to bring an offering for The Lord’s Cupboard and the food pantry each day. Canned goods, diapers, cleaning products, personal hygiene items such as soap and shampoo and all paper products are needed. No fresh or frozen products and no products in glass should be brought.

Registration forms are available at the church and on the website www.wordoflifelc.com.

Because the church is housing the circus for RAGBRAI, a Friday session on July 26 won’t be held this year.
