Van Buren girls finish third at track meet
BLOOMFIELD — The Van Buren girls’ track and field team finished third out of six teams Tuesday at the Mustang Relays hosted by Davis County.
The Warriors scored 80 points and received victories from Hanna Haynes in the 100-meter hurdles and Unity Daugherty in the 3000-meter run.
Second-place finishes came from Haynes in the long jump, as well as the distance medley relay team of Haynes, Kadie Meek, Rachel Warrick and Sydney Atwood.
Haynes added a bronze-medal finish in the 200, and Daugherty finished third in the 1500-run. Allison Dickinson, Steph Woodruff, Tiffany Beggs and Kimberly Heisel combined forces to finish third in the shuttle hurdle relay; and the team’s 4x800 relay of Carissa Kobelt, Alicia Fitzsimmons, Caitlyn Millard and Atwood also finished third.
Host Davis County piled up 205 points to claim the meet title.
The Warriors will join up with Pekin and Cardinal today at the Pantherette Relays in Packwood.
