Victory over Harmony gives Pioneers first win

The 89-51 win puts MSAE in the win column

The long wait is over for fans of the Pioneers.

The Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment boys’ basketball team defeated Harmony 89-51 Friday at the Maharshi Fieldhouse.

This win is the first of the season for the Pioneers (1-11).

After a strong and evenly matched first quarter and second quarter, the Pioneers would take control with a 31-8 run to start the second half.

All 12 Pioneers on the varisty roster made it into the game and 11 of them scored a point.

Suryj Pullapantula finished with 22 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Avery Mullenneaux scored 16 points to go along with four rebounds.

Surya Sawhney had maybe the best performance of the game, scoring 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a steal.

Giovanni Cingire scored nine points and grabbed two steals. Caleb Mullenneaux and Tomas Bousquet each scored six points. Bimba Shresta and David Fleshman both scored four points.

The JV team won their game as well. The Pioneers visit Central Lee on Tuesday.
