Volunteer center hosting workshop
The Fairfield Volunteer Center is offering a free Lunch & Learn Workshop and Brown Bag Lunch for all those who recruit, manage, and coordinate volunteers in their agencies from noon to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Fairfield Public Library.
Ali Wilson, certified volunteer manager with Wapello County United Way, will be presenting tips on the basics of volunteer recruitment and placement; tailoring the recruitment message for diverse groups; creating volunteer job descriptions; and matching volunteers with the best use of their skills and interests.
The goal of the Fairfield Volunteer Center is to strengthen Fairfield as a caring community and to assist area nonprofits in building their capacity to provide services through maximizing the role of volunteers. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, or to get involved, interested persons or groups can call the Fairfield Volunteer Center, stop by its office at the Fairfield Public Library or email FairfieldVolunteers@gmail.com.
