Volunteers to be recognized at rescheduled event Sunday
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Board of Directors and staff will recognize its volunteers at a public appreciation event at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
The event had originally been scheduled for Jan. 27, but was postponed because of weather.
The appreciation event will include the presentation of the 2012 Volunteer of the Year presented by 2011 Volunteer of Year Don Hoelting, the Year-in-Review of the center and Fairfield folk artist Heather Miller providing music. Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Ticket Office Manager and Volunteer Coordinator Sasha Luse, will recognize selected volunteers with certificates and provide an overview of volunteer opportunities at the center.
“The volunteers are vital to the success of the center,” said Rustin Lippincott, executive director. “This is an opportunity for us to acknowledge the individuals who dedicate their time, talents and energy to make the center such an amazing community asset.”
Light desserts and refreshments will be served in the Atrium following the program, provided by Yummy’s Gourmet Cakes. Harpist, Ella Yates will provide music during the reception.
‘The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center appreciates the 192 volunteers who have given nearly 4,100 hours to the center in 2011,” said Luse, adding the volunteer service is worth more than $90,200 to the center, according to the Corporation for National and Community Service.
