Warrior girls fall to Central Lee in OT; boys victorious
DONNELLSON — Van Buren led by as many as 17 points Tuesday, but it couldn’t hold on late as Central Lee rallied back for a 51-48 overtime victory in Donnellson.
Trailing 36-19 headed into the fourth quarter, the Lady Hawks exploded for a 27-point fourth to force overtime at 46-all. Van Buren was only able to score two more points in the overtime period as it dropped to 8-2 overall.
Hanna Haynes, who fouled out at the end of the third quarter, tallied 16 points and 12 boards in limited play. Jordan Billups scored 12.

Sophomore Garrett Saunders poured in a game-high 17 points to lead Van Buren to a 45-41 victory over Central Lee on Tuesday.
Also for the Warriors, Thomas Fitzsimmons scored 12 points, Will Mertens had seven points, and Brandon Plecker and Tanner Smith scored four each.
The 4-4 Warriors play at Maharishi School in Fairfield Friday.
