WAVERLY — Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 323 students during spring commencement May 25.

Meredith Flattery of Fairfield graduated cum laude with a degree in communication arts.

Libbey Schubert of Fairfield graduated cum laude with a degree in fitness management.

CENTRAL COLLEGE

PELLA — Area students presented during Undergraduate Scholarship Celebration Day held May 8 at Central College.

The event provided more than 130 students with the opportunity to showcase their research and projects in a variety of disciplines.

Mycaela Crouse of Hedrick, a biology student, gave a presentation titled “Medicine in the Inca Empire.”

Heath Jackson of Fairfield, a biochemistry and biology student, gave a presentation titled “Consequences of human population expansion into wildlife habitat and the threat of zoonotic diseases on humans.”

Kristofor Johnson of Fairfield, a environmental studies and environmental science student, gave a presentation titled “Free Use of Fiji Land Rights.”
