Weight loss challenge, Trail Mixx programs set
Personal trainer Kristy Clark will be offering two Fairfield Park and Recreation Department programs: a four-week beginner weight loss challenge and a Trail Mixx.
The weight loss challenge will meet from 5:45-6:30 p.m. four Wednesdays Sept. 25 through Oct. 16 at the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center and Roosevelt Aquatic Center.
The program is for the beginner exerciser. It will be low impact and involve a goal set by the trainer each week, weigh-ins, daily journaling, weekly workout routines and learning healthy tips for eating right and body toning and sculpting.
The cost is $55.
Trail Mixx will meet from 5:30-6:15 p.m. on six Thursdays from Sept. 26 through Oct. 31, with locations to be announced, but mostly outside on the trails unless inclement weather forces classes under a park shelter or inside to a rec center racquetball court.
The program will be six weeks of high intensity training and trail running. It will be a boot camp-style workout each week, along with running.
All ages prepared for intermediate exercise are welcome. The class is limited to 10 participants, but a minimum of four is needed or the class will be canceled. The fee is $80.
For information or registration for the programs, call the park and rec office at 472-6159 or visit the website www.fairfieldparksandrec.org.
