Fairfield’s Wit & Wisdom Club held its annual Christmas dinner party Friday evening at the Fairfield Golf & Country Club.
Robert Tree reported it was a festive occasion despite the inclement weather.
Host for the evening was Sally Denny, assisted by Ray and Laurie Woody.
Jerry and Sue Long were in charge of the program.
Following dinner, President Ray Woody announce there would not be any roll call or business meeting. With Sue Long at the piano, the members sang a number of Christmas carols before adjournment.
The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 10.
The Ladies Auxiliary to Dimmitt-Vorhies Post 2271 met Dec. 9 at the post home.
A Christmas potluck was held, and donations for The Lord’s Cupboard were accepted.
A ResCare dance, with punch, cookies and music, was planned for Dec. 11.
The charter was draped for Livii Harper who died Dec. 4. A memorial to cancer aid and research will be sent.
Donations will be sent to National Military Service, hospital fund, cancer aid, Lockridge veterans fund and VFW National Children’s Home.
Coffee was donated to the Elk’s lodge to be used for veterans.
The next meeting will be Jan. 13 at the post home. All auxiliary sisters and new members are welcome to attend.
JEFFERSON COUNTY FAIRFIELD CLOVER KIDS
The Jefferson County Fairfield 4-H Clover Kids met 5:15-6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.
Twenty-one members participated in Simon Says and Telephone games. Each member created his or her very own gingerbread house made from graham crackers, frosting and a wide variety of candies.
The children decorated and ate Christmas cookies, with milk, for a snack.
Helping with the activities were Eileen Pickard, Heather Pickard, Jason Steele, Steve Beltramea, Sophia Mineart, Isabella Beltramea, Brittany Hoskins and Brandon Hoskins.
The Winging It! day camp will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Jefferson County Extension office. The children will learn all about birds and have a visit from Blank Park Zoo representatives. Camp is limited to 24 children. The cost is $10.
