WIT & WISDOM
Wit & Wisdom members held their second meeting of the current season Nov. 8 in the meeting room of the Fairfield Public Library.
President Ray Woody called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Following a business meeting, he introduced Larry and Janet Nash, who presented the evening’s program.
Dr. Nash explained that about a year ago, he and his wife, along with their son and grandson, now a college student, joined a rather large group of Rotarians from Iowa for a trip to visit a number of schools in a mountainous region of Mexico for seven days. Various Rotary Clubs, including the local one, have been sponsoring assistance programs to the schools in the region. Nash was with a group of fellow dentists who visited the schools giving the children fluoride treatments and distributing new toothbrushes. His talk was augments with slides and a number of anecdotes about their experience. At the conclusion of the talk, there was a question period.
The evening concluded with the serving of refreshments by hosts Rodger and Sandy Gillaspie, assisted by Dave and Vicki Eastburn and Martha Flinspach.
The next meeting will be Dec. 13 at the Fairfield Golf & Country Club.
