Young leaders visit Grassley
WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley met with three Iowa high school students while they visited the nation’s capital for the National Youth Leaders Conference in July.
Nathaniel Zhu of Fairfield, Thomas Barker of Iowa City and Nick Ellis of Humboldt were nominated to attend the conference by educators and mentors for their demonstrated maturity and leadership skills. During their time in Washington, D.C., they attended speaking events on the principles of good leadership and met with legislators such as Grassley.
“I enjoy talking with Iowans, answering their questions, and hearing their views,” Grassley said. “Constituent meetings with elected officials are key to the success of representative government. These meetings help to keep our democracy strong.”
Meeting in person with Iowans is a priority for Grassley. In addition to regular face-to-face meetings, Grassley communicates with Iowans on Facebook at www.facebook.com/grassley, Twitter at https://twitter.com/chuckgrassley, and through his website at http://grassley.senate.gov.
