Youth baseball, swim camps open Monday
A Trojan summer baseball camp will be held next week starting Monday at Trojan Field behind the Fairfield Middle School.
The camp, which will continue daily through Friday, June 14, will be split up into two sessions. Session one will be for ages 7-10 and go from 9-10:15 a.m. each day. Session two will follow from 10:15-11:45 a.m. and is for ages 10-14.
Led by Trojan varsity coach Josh Allison and his coaching staff and current players, the camp will include instruction for individuals by position, hitting instruction, pitching instruction, velocity radar reading and instruction in team play. The camp also comes with a T-shirt and one free admission to a Trojan baseball game.
Cost is $35 per child. Families with two or more participants pay $25 per athlete.
Registration will be accepted up to the first day of camp, but preregistration is preferred. To preregister, visit www.fairfieldparksandrec.org or call the park and rec office at 472-6159.

Swim camp set
Jane and Abby McMahon will be leading a summer swim camp starting Monday at the Roosevelt Aquatic Center.
The camp will run daily through Friday, June 14, at 9-10:30 a.m.
The camp is an opportunity to “build confidence, develop skills and meet new friends.” The coaches will instruct and demonstrate competitive level strokes, starts and turns. Goggles and swim caps are required.
Cost is $25 per child, and registration is available at www.fairfieldparksandrec.org or by calling the park and rec office at 472-6159. Preregistration is not required, but it is encouraged.
The coaches are donating all proceeds from the camp to the pool and gym project.
