Youth center in Mt. Pleasant set on fire Monday
MT. PLEASANT – A student center affiliated with Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant suffered significant smoke damage Monday when a fire was set at the back of the building.
The building, known as the E3 Center, was evacuated at 10:22 p.m. when people saw a fire had been set on the docks on the back side of the building.
Two juvenile suspects were identified as being involved and were subsequently held at the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center.
Damage from the fire was mostly contained to the area on the back side of the building. However smoke entered the building and caused a large amount of damage, according to a press release from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
