3 blood drives set in Fairfield, Van Buren County

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has scheduled three community blood drives next week.

All presenting donors at any of the three drives will be entered to win a vacation package.

The first blood drive will be hosted by Advance America from 3-6 p.m. Monday inside the MVRBC donor bus parked outside the business.

Donors who last gave blood on or before May 1 are eligible to give again at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact Advance America at 472-2143 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5373 to locate the drive.

Stockport will host a community blood drive from 3-6 p.m. June 28 in the Stockport American Legion Hall.

Donors who last gave blood on or before May 3 are eligible to give again at this drive.

For appointments to donate, call Jerry Leathers at 919-2003 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5429 to locate the drive.

Van Buren County will host a community blood drive from 3:45-7 p.m. June 28 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before May 3 are eligible to give again at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact the blood center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5084 to locate the drive.

Potential blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old can donate with a completed parental permission form available at www.bloodcenter.org.

Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. A photo I.D. is required to donate.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals, including Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield and the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
