40 Days for Life begins Wednesday

Sep 22, 2017

40 Days for Life will begin Wednesday and continue through Nov. 5.

40 Days for Life is a 40-day period of prayer, fasting, and community outreach to end abortion.

Started in 2007, this prayer-filled event claims to have been instrumental in the permanent closing of 86 abortion facilities saving lives and saving women and families from the anguish and heartbreak of abortion.

There are 375 40 Day locations this fall around the world, where people are peacefully praying in front of abortion facilities and reaching out in love to anyone that feels they have no options while facing an unexpected pregnancy. They offer hope and positive solutions.

Jefferson County Right to Life will mark 40 Days for Life by erecting white crosses at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the lawn of Immanuel Lutheran Church on south Main Street in memory of the lives lost through abortion.

Participants helping to put up the crosses should wear gloves and bring a hammer.

Also, during the event, a short program about the joys of adoption will be given by someone who was adopted and by a couple who have adopted children. Light refreshments will be served and the program will end at 7 p.m.

For information about the event or 40 Days for Life, call Karen Crossland at 472-9452.
