A total of 1,200 plastic containers made by Agri-Industrial Plastics Co. are being distributed by the Red Cross to victims of Hurricane Irma in Florida as they begin to clean up and rebuild.

The plastic bins will be used for sorting belongings in flooded homes and for safely storing possessions in shelters.

Agri-Industrial, upon learning of the need through the Society of Plastics Engineers, donated machine time, color and employee hours to produce the bins. Solutions, a customer of Agri-Industrial, donated use of the mold while raw material was provided by Ineos, one of Agri-Industrial’s suppliers.

“After witnessing the devastation in Florida left by Hurricane Irma, we felt compelled to help,” said Lori Schaefer-Weaton, president, Agri-Industrial Plastics Co. “Through our association with SPE, we partnered with other members, one of our customers, and one of our suppliers to manufacture the plastic totes. It was a privilege to partner with our friends — and the Red Cross — to provide assistance for some of those who have lost so much.”

Founded in 1978, Agri-Industrial Plastics Co. is a leading industrial blow molder of large parts including non-automotive fuel tanks for the recreational equipment, lawn and garden, agricultural, and watercraft industries. Agri-Industrial serves a diverse customer base and offers unparalleled expertise in part and mold design, engineering, part production, and assembly.
