Although the class colors are red, white and blue, the student body will wear purple in honor of one of their classmates.

“They are wearing purple gowns in support of Sara Weaver who has Rhett Syndrome,” said school secretary Robin Lyons. “Sara is graduating this year and purple is the color for Rhett Syndrome.”

The class flower is a white rose, and the guest speaker is VBHS art teacher Greg Jones.

The class song is “The Rose” by Amanda McBroom.

“The vocal ensemble will sing that,” Lyons said, adding that the VBHS band would play “Twister” by Mark Mancina.

The 2017 class president is Hannah Sprouse; Grace Thomas is vice president; Mekenzie Rodibaugh is secretary and Sarah Thornsberry is treasurer.

Cardinal’s graduation is at 2 p.m. inside the high school gymnasium. The class colors are black and red, and the class flower is a white rose.

The class motto is “Chase your dreams, but always know the road that’ll lead you home again.”

The class song is “I’ll Be There for You,” by the Rembrandts.

Various members of the 2017 graduating class will speak during the ceremony.
