Arts, culture celebration set

■ The Fairfield Cultural Alliance Cultural Contribution Award will be presented
Nov 07, 2013

The Fairfield Cultural Alliance invites all culture lovers and creators to its annual free Arts and Culture Celebration at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at ICON Gallery in the downtown Fairfield Cultural District.

Those attending can create connections with community leaders and members of the arts and culture community and tell the alliance about current projects.

The celebration includes speakers Michael Halley reporting on the process of organizing the recent Fairfield RAGBRAI event; James Moore on the present and future of the FairFest music festival; Cindy Woodbury on plans for the monthly Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walks; and more. Mayor Ed Malloy also will be giving updates.

The Fairfield Cultural Alliance Cultural Contribution Award will be presented to a group or individual who has made a significant contribution to Fairfield’s cultural community in 2013.

Gourmet appetizers and dessert refreshments will be served. Live musical entertainment and door prizes will complete the party.

The Fairfield Cultural Alliance is a nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission includes administering the Fairfield Cultural District and supporting art and culture in Fairfield through grants, education and marketing. Its projects have included the Fairfield Cultural Trust Fund for mini-grants, the Fairfield Walking Tour booklet annual editions and annual Cultural Contribution awards.
