By Nicole Major, Ledger staff writer | Oct 12, 2017

Ghosts and goblins, ghouls and witches will make their ghastly appearances from 7-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday during the Batavia Haunted House opening.

Additionally, the haunted house will be open from 7-11 p.m. Oct. 20 -21 and Oct. 27-28.

The house is inside the old grain elevator, which is at the end of Main street just before the railroad tracks in downtown Batavia. The Ottumwa Boxing Club helped sponsor the house.

Regular admission is $7, but those bringing non-perishable items or canned goods, will receive a discounted rate of $5. Those brining food items are encouraged to check expiration dates.

Proceeds from the house will go to The Lord’s Cupboard in Fairfield.
