A behind-the-scenes discussion of “Heroes of Fairfield” is planned from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Fairfield Public Library meeting room.

“Heroes of Fairfield,” the second film in the Fairfield History Series, debuted this summer at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. The film profiled local people involved in the Underground Railroad as well as heroes from other eras.

Dick DeAngelis, Rory Goff and Lawrence Eyre are scheduled to be at the behind-the-scenes discussion. The discussion will feature research on Fairfield’s Underground Railroad.

DeAngelis produced the film.

Goff is author of “Anti-Slavery and the Underground Railroad in Fairfield, Iowa,” a 700-page reference guide to every local person who took part in the anti-slavery movement of the 1840s-1860s. The book will be available for purchase at the discussion Tuesday.

The first film in the Fairfield History Series premiered last year and was called “Life Before Fairfield.” It was about the area’s history before its settlement by Europeans.

The third film is scheduled to debut next year and will be about agriculture.

The discussion is sponsored by the Fairfield Public Library. Call 472-6551 for information.
