Bennett leading sculpture class; registration due

The Fairfield Art Association announces an adult sculpture class with artist Christopher Bennett starting April 1 at Morning Star Studio.

Bennett is the lead artist and sculptor of the “Mr. Fairfield - Lee T. Gobble II” life-sized bronze figure commissioned by the art association to be placed on the lawn of the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

Class members will be working from a live model and will be sculpting an 18-inch full figure on a pre-made armature, using plasticine clay.

The class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on four Saturdays beginning April 1. There will be an option to continue sessions without a model, but working from an anatomy book.

Register for the class by emailing name, phone number and email address to Suzan Kessel, volunteer director of the Fairfield Art Association at suzan1252@aol.com. Registration has been extended until Friday.

Fee for the sculpture class is $320 and covers materials, the model, an anatomy book, studio fee, and instruction by Bennett.

A partial payment of $85 must be made by Friday to Bennett Studio, 26983 Rte J40, Keosauqua 52565.

Completion of the payment must be made prior to commencement of the first class.

A minimum and maximum number of students for the class to take place.
