Bertha 'Rosalie' Mairet

Bertha “Rosalie” Mairet, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Randy Sweeny officiating.  Burial will be at Batavia Cemetery.

Visitation is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, an hour prior to the service.

Ms. Mairet was born June 6, 1938 in Jefferson County, the daughter of George Albert and Opal Silvia McCleary Mairet.

She graduated from Batavia High School in 1957.

She moved to California after graduation and worked at Fiber Board for 30 years.

She moved back to Fairfield in 1995.

She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church of Batavia.

She enjoyed her dog Spot and her cat Daisy.

Survivors include one daughter, Laurie Carlson and spouse Terrance of Corona, Calif.; one granddaughter; and three sisters, LaVelle Ridgeway and Margie Mairet, both of Fairfield and Juanita Jones of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Darlene Leahy; and one brother, Roscoe Webb.
