The deadline for entries in the Birmingham Homecoming Prince and Princess Contest is Saturday.

The contest will be held June 6.

Contestants can be 2-4 years old and 4-8 years old. They must have a Birmingham address.

The Birmingham Lions will not meet Monday due to Memorial Day.


The Over 50 and Fabulous Red Hat Ladies met for lunch recently at the Pizza Ranch in Fairfield.

Eighteen members were present.

“Happy Birthday” was sung for those with April birthdays.

JoAnn Denniston won the door prize. Joyce Dorothy and Arlene Lyon were the hostesses.


The Van Buren High School had a community service day May 2, with a group of students going to each town in the district.

Fifteen students went to Birmingham. They and adult leaders painted, cleaned up City Park and picked up along the street leading to the cemetery. Their work was appreciated.

The Stockport Library Board will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the library. All members of the board are urged to attend.


School will be letting out for the summer, which means the children will be out on the streets of Stockport more during the day, so watch for children when out driving in Stockport.
