The Over 50 and Fabulous Red Hat Ladies will meet for an 11:30 a.m. lunch Tuesday at Cup and Cakes in Keosauqua.

The hostesses are Barb Jamison and Judy Privia.


New officers of the Birmingham Lions Club are: Stanley Kenipfer, president; Kris Anderson, first vice president; Herb Schafer, second vice president; Carroll Unkrich, treasurer; Harry Anderson, tail twister; and Larry Smith, lion tamer.

Van Meek, Gene Stine, Alice Stortz, Ernie Hinkle and Morrie Shaw are on the board of directors.

Volunteers are needed to help raise and lower the Avenue of Flags on Friday for the Fourth of July. Volunteers should meet at 7 a.m. in front of the city garage to raise the flags and return at 4 p.m. to lower them.


The Stockport Library will be closed until Monday so new carpet and lights can be installed.


The Stockport Library’s annual summer reading program begins at 3:30 p.m. July 9. This year, the program is about robots and science.


The Stockport City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at city hall. Anyone wanting to speak to the mayor and council should call city hall to be placed on the agenda 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
