Jean Smith reported an old-fashioned camp meeting is set at 7 p.m. Sunday through Aug. 16 at Heartland Campgrounds.

The public is welcome.


The Birmingham Lions Club will have a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Birmingham Lions Building.

The August committee is Hugh Shaw and Stanley Kripfer.


The Over 50 and Fabulous Red Hat Ladies will meet for an 11:30 a.m. lunch Tuesday at the Pizza Ranch in Fairfield.

Doris Ramsey and Lois Nicholson are the hostesses.


The Presbyterian Ladies will meet for a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Presbyterian Church.

Roll call response will be a Bible verse about wisdom.

Donna R. Corry will have the devotion and the program.

Donna Pratt will be the hostess.


The Birmingham United Methodist Church board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

The Bluegrass Blondies Concert, hosted by the Stockport United Methodist Church, is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the church.

Scott and Dawn Amos, and their three blond daughters, Taylor, Bethany and Hallie, will sing and play Christian music, with a little bit of bluegrass style.

A freewill offering will be taken.


The Stockport community vacation Bible school was a success, with many children in the community attending each night.

All of the people who volunteered during the vacation Bible school are greatly appreciated for their help and service.


The B.A.T.T.L.E. Youth Group will begin meeting again this fall. Details will be announced soon.
